Russell Nelson says nothing new or prophetic at the California devotional on February 27, 2022 as he repeats everything he said to the European members a month before. He is all about hero worship of him as a prophet, and his words focus on church, process, covenants to keep you active in the church and elevating him as a man. He only mentions Jesus’ name once in this talk. He tells us, “prophets walk upon the earth today”, but the 15 praise Nelson and then Nelson, in turn, praises them back. They do not speak by the power of he Holy Ghost. 2 Nephi 28:31 – “Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost.”

0:11 – He starts with asking: What kind of influence does the Lord want us to have? He answers: “We are to make life better for ourselves and others”, and to do that we need to seek truth, make covenants with God and help gather Israel. However, his truth and the church’s covenants do not bring us humbly to Christ so we can receive the baptism of Fire and the Holy Ghost.
1:05 – Then Russell Nelson says: “seek for answers to your questions through… studying the words of prophets, seers and revelators” and “you can trust them completely”. But when we study it out, we discover they have deceived us about important church history and doctrine, such as racial issues, polygamy, and the true Doctrine of Christ, which starts with coming unto Him with a broken heart and contrite spirit to receive the baptism of Fire and the Holy Ghost.
2:20 – Next he mentions the “gaps” in our understanding, admiting the many issues over which members are leaving the church. And he says Nephi saw our day in vision: “the power of the Lamb of God descending on the covenant people of the Lord and they were armed with the power of God in great glory.” But who are the covenant people and where are they armed with God’s glory? The answer is not the leaders, and many members, who bask in Babylon’s riches and deceptions.
3:28 – Lastly, he repeats everything he said to the European members in January 2022 concerning bringing others to the church. How shallow and uninspired, as he merely replaces the word “Europe” with “California”, saying:
- Think about why you are in California at this time,
- Your were chosen to be of Israel,
- The Lord has never needed faithful saints in California more than right now,
- You have the answers your friends are seeking,
- Pray and watch for opportunies to share the joy you have,
- You are perfectly positioned to find the children of Israel who are living in or coming to California,
- You were born to do this, you are the hope of California.

- Piensa por qué estás en California en este momento,
- Tu fuiste escogido para ser de Israel,
- El Señor nunca ha necesitado santos fieles en California más que ahora mismo,
- Tienes las respuestas que buscan tus amigos,
- Oren y busquen oportunidades para compartir la alegría que tienen,
- Estás perfectamente posicionado para encontrar a los hijos de Israel que viven o vienen a California,
- Naciste para hacer esto, eres la esperanza de California.
